Favour Boxes
We in the UK know them as Wedding Favours, however the traditional name for them is Bomboniere. The Bomboniere originated in Italy and was given as a small keepsake gift to friends and family at weddings.
Nowadays the Bomboniere comes in a variety of forms, from nets and pouches to boxes and ribbons. In most cases they contain 5 sugared almonds representing Health, Wealth, Happiness, Long Life and Fertility. However like everything that moves on in life, there are now variations on this. You may find the modern Bomboniere to contain mints, chocolates, truffles or even small candles.
Although most popular at weddings, the Bomboniere is becoming more visible at other occasions such as birthdays, christenings and anniversaries. Also see our choices of nets and pouches.
